Spending as much time as possible in the Otway Ranges I often encounter a feature known as 'The Otways Blanket'. And so often this occur around Lavers Hill – just like today. I was looking for the access point to the track to the elusive ‘Upper Chapple Falls’.
Once located and I headed down the track, I was struck by the sheer beauty of the scene in front of me. I don’t think I will ever know what gets me first – is it the smell of the wet ferns are you brush past them, or the amazing textures of the trees, or in this case the contrast between the lush green foreground and the Opaque Whiteness of the slowly sinking Otways Blanket.
