The wonders of nature never cease to amaze me. Take the humble Omphalotus nidiformis, otherwise known as 'Ghost Fungus' due to its bioluminescent properties.
The color comes from a chemical reaction within the fungi that creates photons. In fact its the same process that creates light inside a glowworm. Like a lot of fungi this one is not good to eat - it wont kill you, but you wont be very well...
